Women are taking the lead in social networking and social media, and this is a great thing.
Recent (ok, it’s about 2 months old) data from Nielsen US suggests that 55% of social mobile experiences are carried out by women. And while this may not uniformly translate across to Australia it’s an early indicator of how we may see the Australian market develop further.
Blogher.com has also released a fascinating study about what women are doing online, what they’re interested in and why they’re doing it.
The impacts of the results are, to say the least, revealing.
The following three graphics outline the study’s results about the three main catalysts of social interaction:
‘Howdo you participate socially online?’,
‘What are you key topics of interest online’ and
‘Why do you participate socially online?’
